Six Women But No Men Ask for Citizenship

Judge Bruce Beilfuss gave an address at the Clark county court house at Neillsville Tuesday, June 17th, when six women became citizens of the United States. The program, under the direction of the Neillsville ! Business and Professional Woman's club, consisted of the invocation by Rev. William Koehler and music by the Neillsville band. Dr. Sarah Rosekrans lead in group singing of the national anthem. Those who petitioned for naturalization on that day were Marie Agatha Grabara of Greenwood, Mary Neimat of Willard, Theresia Kapusta of Granton, Regina Anna Westhoff of Loyal, Franziska Elpert of Abbotsford, and Helen Margaret Preston of Neillsville, Wis. Miss Preston, a teacher in Beloit, is a Canadian byb irth. Although her parents were both born in the United States, they had lost their citizenship at the time of her birth by residence in Canada.
