I believe the church closed its doors in the late 70s or more likely the early 1980s. I do not know exactly. The Bishop closed the church and, unfortunately, all the interior furnishings were auctioned off. A few pieces have been recovered or preserved in the Thorp Historical Society Museum which is located next door to the church in the old rectory. The museum is well worth a visit, and amazing place. Call ahead, the hours are limited.

There is one person I know of who's trying to get the church building declared "historical" and preserve it. I do not know if that effort will succeed.

I was christened there and my parents and lots of relatives married there. There are a few old pictures of the church posted here: http://wvls.lib.wi.us/ClarkCounty/withee/Churches.htm. I have a copy of the diamond jubilee book from 1966 with more history and will one day work to post it on that web site as well.
