Glenzer, Mary (2 JAN 1861 - 5 DEC 1898)

Died, at her home in the town of Colby, Clark Co., Wis., on Monday, Dec. 5th, 1898, of cancer, Mary, wife of Christ Glenzer, in the 38th years of her age.

Mrs. Glenzer, whose maiden name was Mary Rueden, was born in Sheboygan Co., Wis., Jan. 2nd, 1861, and was united in marriage with Christ Glenzer, June 28th, 1879. She came with her husband to Colby in the fall of 1892, when they located on the farm where she died, on Section 19, in the town of Colby.

For about a year past she has been in failing health and last spring went to the hospital at Marshfield, where an operation was performed on her for the removal of the cancer, but proved unsuccessful and another operation was performed in June, which was also unsuccessful, except, that it retarded the disease until this time.

She was the mother of 10 children, 8 of whom survive her, 3 sons and 5 daughters, who with the bereaved husband mourn the loss of a loving mother and a devoted wife. Besides these she leaves a mother, Catherine Rueden of this city, three brothers, Math. Rueden of Manitowoc, George of Park City, Mont., John of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. M. Burtard of this city, and Mrs. Lizzie Leohmann of New London, to mourn her death.

The funeral occurred yesterday at St. Kilian’s Church, and the interment happened in the Catholic Cemetery, Rev. G. Vadder officiating
