Hamann, Henrietta (14 OCT 1828 - 6 NOV 1900)

Died, at her home in the town of Wein, Marathon Co., Wis., on Tuesday, Nov 6th, 1900, Mrs. Henrietta, beloved wife of Fred Hamann, aged 72 years and 23 days.

Henrietta Marquardt was born Oct. 14th, 1828, in Zimmerhousen, Pomerania, Germany; she came to America in 1857, located at Freistadt, Ozaukee Co., Wis., where a year later she was united in marriage with Fred Hamann, who survives her; shortly after their marriage they moved to the present town of Wein, being among the very earliest settler of the "Wein Settlement."

She was the mother of three sons and six daughters, all of whom, except the eldest son William whose death was noted in these columns the present year, survive her, and with the husband mourn the loss of a loving wife and parent.

The funeral was held from the house, thence to the Ev. Lutheran St. John’s Church, U.A.C., where Rev Heidelberger conducted the service. The remains were laid to rest beside those of her son.
