Partridge, Clara A. (4 MAR 1847 - 9 FEB 1902)
Died, at her home in the village of Abbotsford, Wis., on Sunday, Feb 9th, 1902, of chronic gastritis and inflammation of the gall bladder, associated with fatty degeneration of the heart, Mrs. Clara A., beloved wife of Chas. Partridge, in the 55th year of her age.
Clara Adelaide Root was born March 4th, 1847, at Monroe, Mich., where her parents were among the early pioneers, and where they both died several years ago. She was united in marriage with Charles Partridge, Jan. 16th, 1880, and Nov. 4th of the same year came to Abbotsford, where they have since resided. She was the mother of one daughter, who survives her. The bereaved husband and daughter mourn the loss of a loving, devoted wife and mother.
In the death of Mrs. Partridge the community loses a good woman, one who was always foremost in works of charity and benevolence. No movement of philanthropy was complete without her cooperation. She was a highly cultured and refined woman, who whole aim in life seemed to be to make those about her happy. Her loss will be deeply felt, no only in Abbotsford, but in Colby as well, and many admiring and devoted friends will long mourn her demise.
The funeral was held from the chapel, in the building of which she took such earnest part, the services were conducted by the Rev. K. Knutson, and the interment was in Colby Cemetery.
