Zickert, Franklin L. (4 Oct. 1922 - 12 Dec. 1986)

Sixty-four year old Franklin L Zickert, R. # 3 Neillsville, passed away suddenly Friday morning, December 12, 1986, while at work. Rev. Richard Weber officiated during services held Monday, December 15, at Gesche Funeral Home. Janice Mayer and Virginia Gassen provided music. Interment was in Neillsville City Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Henry "Bud" Kuester, David Hoppa, Bertie Schultz, Dale Hagen, Bill Mitte and Edmund Statz.

Mr. Zickert was born in the Town of Weston, on October 4, 1922, to Frank H and Bertha (Quast) Zickert. He was educated at Uncle Sam School in the Town of Weston and St. John’s Lutheran School in Neillsville, and later farmed with his parents and worked at various jobs in the area.

On June 5, 1943 he married Bernice M. Boon in Neillsville, Wis. For 26 years he operated a rural milk route in the Neillsville area besides farming in the Town of Weston. Presently, he was employed by Hoppa’s Dairyland Forest Products, of rural Neillsville, Wis.

Surviving is his wife and five children, Frank L of Marshfield, Dennis of Morrison, IL, Ricky of DeSota, WI, Linda Thorson and Mrs. Michael (Cindy) Wortman, both of Neillsville; a sister Mrs. Marvin (Arlene) Heiman, Sun Prairie; and nine grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a son, Terry; and a grandson.
