East Pleasant Ridge

"The trees are Nature’s music - Her living harps are they, On which the fingers of the wind Majestic marches play."

D. P. Hughes and wife arrived Saturday night from Menomonie, to spend the weekend at the J. E. Hughes home and taken in the Golden Wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Howard.

Mr. Clements Keuchenmeister of Neillsville and his daughter Mrs. Ira Slocomb and daughters Natalie, and Aileen of Menomonie visited Ed Hubing Sunday p.m.

Mesdames Alvah and Vern Howard drove to Marshfield Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kurth accompanied by Carl and Herman Bratz drove to near Milwaukee, also the Rev. Albrecht and wife at Racine, and spent a night with Rev. Westphall and wife at Random Lake returning home Wednesday.

The families of Chas. Hubing, Art Shumways, and Clifford Tifft had a picnic at Ross Eddy’s Sunday.

The Golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Howard, at the old home was a huge success. Old friends and neighbors gathered. The house was beautifully decorated with flowers, and crepe paper. The sun came out and the day was spenting visiting and joking about the times of long ago. Altogether I think we will agree it was a beautiful day well spent and long lie and more happiness is what we wish the happy couple. Mr. Crothers attended and I am sure he will give a wonderful write up of the occasion.

Mr. Leonard Braatz, son of Henry Braatz, and lady friend, also a boy friend of Burlington, drove up for the day.

Mrs. Geo. West was well enough to attend the Golden wedding of her aunt, Mrs. Howard.

A sister of Mrs. Geo. West and little daughter, also a brother Geo. Slocomb from Minnesota, spent the weekend at Geo. West’s.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Howard, Mrs. Wm. Martin of California arrived at Marshfield Thursday. Vern Howard and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Howard drove over to get her.
