Ruth E. Moberg, 93, formerly of Greenwood, died at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 27, at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood, from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. The Rev. Craig Conklin will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruth E. Moberg, 93, Loyal, formerly of Greenwood, died at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, on Monday, Jan. 23, 2006. A memorial service was held at 1 p.m., Friday, Jan. 27, ay Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Craig Conklin officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Ruth Edna Redmond was born on Feb. 13, 1912, in Portland, Ore., to James and Della (nee McKimm) Redmond. As a young child, she and her family moved to the Neillsville area, where she received her education at Mound School and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1929. She married Elery L. "Swede" Moberg on Sept. 26, 1932 in Neillsville, Wis. They lived and farmed in Clark County until retiring in1964. In 1978, they moved to Loyal and lived on their daughter, Lois’ farm. Her husband died two months after their 50th wedding anniversary, on Nov. 26, 1982. She continued to live with her daughter, Lois, until entering the Clark County Health Care Center after suffering a stroke on Jan. 14, 2006. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, was a former member of the Clark County Homemakers, was a past 4-H leader for the Pleasant Ridge 4-H Club, and a past volunteer for the Red Cross. She also had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, playing cards, knitting and crocheting.

Survivors include four daughters, Marjorie Klapatauskas, Withee, Sharon (James) Horswill, Mesa, Ariz.; Lois (James) Becker, Loyal, and Avis (Arnold) Becker, Loyal; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; one brother, Ernest Redmond; and two sisters, Marion Swann and Minnie Helms.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal assisted the family with arrangements.
