Campbell, Gordon W. (October 22, 1918-December 17, 1982)

Gordon W Campbell, age 64, passed away at his Bogalusa, LA home on Friday, December 17, 1982. Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 22, from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, with the Rev. Howard Ott, of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery with graveside rites offered by the Haugen-Richmond American Legion Post.

Gordon was born on October 22, 1918, in Neillsville to Ernest and Helen (Wilson) Campbell. After his education, he worked in Milwaukee for several years. On October 5, 1939, he married Melba Boness in Waukon, Iowa ceremonies.

In 1943, he entered the U.S. Army and was discharged in 1945. He then returned to Neillsville where he worked for Warlum-Robinson Electric and later managed his own electrical service business in the community. He later worked for the U.S. Government, serving in various cities in the nation and had been a Bogalusa resident for the past year. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Surviving him is his wife and two sons, Donald and Richard both of Neillsville; three daughters, Diane (Dale) Northup of Neillsville, Judy (Robert) Vine of Granton and Pat (Theodore) Carter of Colonial Heights, Virginia; a sister, Florence (Robert) Anderegg, Iola; two brothers, George of Neillsville and Edward of San Antonio, TX; and 15 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
