Schoenwetter, Herbert (9 May 1893 - 18 July 1935)

Herbert Schoenwetter, whose death occurred July 18, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, following a fall in the barn while haying, was born at Lowell, Wis., May 9, 1893. At the age of 12 he came to Clark County with his parents and settled on a farm near Longwood, remaining to help them until 1915. In that year he was married to Miss Jennie Spranger. They took up their residence at Janesville, but came back to Clark County after two years and moved on a farm in the Town of Weston, which he bought and where he lived until his death.


He is survived by his widow, his mother, Mrs. Bertha Schoenwetter, and three sisters, Mrs. Carl Swanty, Mrs. Abe Thorson, Longwood; Mrs. Edith Frank, and two brothers, Erwin and Frank of California.


The funeral was held July 20, Rev. E. H. Vornholt officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Prock, Arnold Dudei, Alvin Meihack, Earl Schwellenbach, Herman Hagedorn and Walter Wood.


Those from away who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Abe Thorsen and children and Otto Wetzel and children.

Herbert  came to Longwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin with his parents, Frank and Bertha Schoenwetter.  They settled on a farm near Longwood where he lived until 1915. In his twenty-second year, he was married to Miss Jennie Spranger and moved to Janesville, where they remained for two years before returning to Clark County and purchased their farm in the Town of Weston, where he lived until his death.
