Purgett, Florence H. (22 Nov. 1902 - 20 Feb. 1989)

Owen - Florence H. Purgett, 86, Germantown, formerly of Withee, died at 3:10 p.m. Monday at her home.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Maurina Funeral home, Owen, with the Rev. Paul Peterson, officiating. Burial will be in Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, Withee.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

She was born Nov. 22, 1902, in the town of Hixon, rural Withee, to Edward and Marie Bergstrom. She attended the Withee High School and Business College in Appleton and Minneapolis for two years.

She was married to Charles Henry Purgett, Dec. 19, 1925, in Danish Lutheran Church, Withee. He died Jan. 4, 1967.

She was employed by the Owen Canning Co. and the Bergstrom Oil Co., both of Owen, Wis. In 1955, she moved to Thiensville and worked for the Thiensville Lumber Co. She moved to Germantown in 1959 and retired in 1962.

She was a member of the Germantown Senior Citizens, the AARP, and the Washington County Homemaker’s Extension.

She is survived by one son, Eugene E. of Germantown; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Ruby Ann) Zimmermann of Richfield; Mrs. Otto (Janet) Sauer of Sheboygan and Mrs. John (Diane) Kleinke of Dundee; one sister, Frances "Toots" Shock of Neillsville, one brother, Edward Bergstrom of Eagle River; 26 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by one son, Mahlon, one brother, Harvey, and four grandchildren.
