McConnell, Clara (22 DEC 1883 - 30 AUG 1910)
The remains of Mrs. R.J. McConnell, who died at her home in Duluth, Minn., Aug. 30th, arrived here (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) last Thursday morning, and the funeral was held from the M.E. Church at 3 o’clock p.m., rev. Martin of Abbotsford officiating.
Clara Vetter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vetter, both now deceased, at Coolidge, Wis., Dec. 22nd, 1883. After the death of her mother, about eighteen years ago, she resided here for a time with her grandmother, Mrs. Emeline Wicker. She was married July 1st, 1902, in this city, to Robert J. McConnell of Loyal, Clark Co. To this union were born four children, Alma, Helen, George and John, all of whom with the husband, one brother, grandmother, other relatives and many friends, remain to mourn the death of a kind and loving woman.
The relatives from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Castner, and Mrs. F. Vetter of Loyal; Mrs. Jos. T. Sims of Antigo; Frank Wicker of Medford; Florence Marsh of Stevens Point. Mesdames Esselman, Chesak and Riley of Athens, friends of the deceased were also present.
