FEIND, Carl (23 JUL 1870- 31 JUL 1963)

Carl Feind, a resident of Colby for 90 years, died last Wednesday at the age of 93. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon in Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Jerome Wohlfeil officiating. Burial was made in the Colby cemetery. Pallbearers were Julius Schulz, Donald Schulz, Lloyd Feind, Dennis Feind, Julius Feind, Jr., and Maynard Bauer. Hymns were sung by Kenneth Schulz, accompanied by Miss Jeanne Tesmer. Mr. Feind was born July 23, 1870, at Chilton, and came to Colby with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Feind, at the age of three. He was married Oct. 30, 1902, to Anna [Amanda] Wiedenhoeft at Colby. They farmed in the town of Colby until he retired in 1935, when they moved into the city. He is survived by his wife; six daughters, Mrs. E.W. (Elsie) Schulz, Adeline, and Mrs. Laura Marsh, Colby; Verna and Irene, Milwaukee; and Alida, Chicago; three sons, Julius and Arthur, Rochester, Minn.; and Ernest, Colby; two sisters, Mrs. William Risteau, Baileys Harbor; and Mrs. Albert Steckhohn, Milwaukee; a brother, Edward, Colby; 21 grand children, and 41 great grand children. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters. Out of town relatives attending the funeral included: Aleida Feind, Chicago; Irene and Verna Feind, Darlene Feind, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schulz, Linda, Alan and Susan, Mrs. Albert Steckhohn and Clarence Steckhohn and Dennis Frome of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Feind, Deatra and Annette, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Feind, Paul, Kenneth and John, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Feind, Jr., and Susan, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Feind, Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Feind and son, Joseph, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kleinschmidt and son, Tomahawk; Dr. D.W. Schulz, Shawano; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Boss and sons, Dennis, Danny, Jimmie, John and daughter, Kathy, of Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Casanova, Daun, Todd and Curt, Appleton; Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Feind of Abbotsford; Mrs. Leona Mueller, Eau Claire; Orland Feind, Marshfield; Clarence Wiedenhoeft, Cable.
