Greve, Catharine (3 MAR 1853 - 21 MAR 1935)

Mrs. Catharine Greve, aged 82 year and 18 days, died of a sudden heart attack at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Hansman on Thursday, March 21st, 1935.

Catharine Margratha Lauson was born in Slachvick, Holstein, Germany on March 3, 1853 and came to America in 1867. On Oct. 17, 1871 she was united in marriage with Ditlef Greve, since deceased. Since that time she resided in Potter and Chilton, Wis. In 1918 she came to Thorp, Clark Co. and spent most of the intervening years with her son Fred and family in the town of Worden.

Those left to mourn are one brother, C.P. Lauson of Milwaukee, two sisters, Mrs. Schneider of New Holstein, and Mrs. Mary Banderob of Seattle, Wash., two sons, Fred of Withee, and Arthur of Thorp, three daughters, Mrs. Anna Pattrick , Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Mary Engleman, Schaller, Iowa, and Mrs. A.J. Hansman, Thorp. One daughter, Margaret, 62, passed away just a week before.

The body was shipped to Potter, Wis. on Friday and funeral services were held at the Potter Reformed Church, Rev. E.P. Nuss officiating, with interment in the Potter Cemetery.
