Gurklis, Anne (24 SEP 1935)

A very beautiful wedding was solemnized Tuesday, Sept. 24th, 1935, at St. Hedwig’s Church by F.A. Kulig, when Mr. Mathew P. Glowacki, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glowacki, and Miss Anne Gurklis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Gurklis, were united in holy matrimony.

The bride was attired in a princess style lace gown of white, carrying a large bouquet of white roses and ferns. The groom wore a dark blue suit. The wedding was attended by Miss Katherine Bogumill, who acted as maid of honor, wearing a yellow and brown ensemble and carrying a bouquet of pink roses and white asters. Miss Mary Glowacki acted as bridesmaid, wearing a gown of blue satin and carrying a bouquet of pink roses and white asters. Mr. George Panek acted as best man, wearing a dark blue suit.

A bountiful breakfast was served at the Paul Glowacki home for the immediate families. Shortly after breakfast the bridal party left for Eau Claire where they were entertained by friends. On their return a dance was given at Mileaway for all their friends.

The out of town guests were: Mrs. A. Barnum of Eau Claire, sister of the groom, and Miss Mary Glowacki of Chicago.

The newlyweds will make their home at Thorp, Clark Co., Wis., the groom being the proprietor of the Star Shoe Store.

Their many friends are joining the Courier in wishing them happiness and success.
