Phipps, LaVerne (20 NOV 1935)

At 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, Nov. 20 Miss LaVerne Phipps became the bride of Mr. Willard Roidt. The ceremony was read by County Judge O. W. Schoengarth in the Clark Co. courthouse.

Miss Helen Weister of Marshfield attended the bride and the groom’s attendant was his brother, Richard Roidt.

Miss Phipps was attired in a blue transparent velvet, ankle length gown with a blue velvet hat to match. Her bride’s maid wore an ankle length gown of green transparent velvet and a green hat to match.

At 6:30 P.M. dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Phipps. The guests were the closest relatives of the bridal couple. The home was beautifully decorated for the event in blue and white.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Roidt of the Town of Beaver and for several years has assisted his father with the work on the farm.

LaVerne was a graduate of Loyal High School, class of 1935.

Saturday evening, Nov. 16, a large crowd gathered at the Beaver Town Hall with Miss Phipps and Mr. Roidt as guests of honor at a pre-nuptial shower. Many nice gifts were received.

On Wednesday evening, Nov. 20, Mr. and Mrs. W. Roidt gave a free wedding dance at Riplinger.

We join with their many friends in wishing them much happiness in their married life.
