Klumpjan, Lizzie (4 SEP 1871 - 24 JAN 1911)
Died, at her home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., at 11:20, Tuesday night, Jan. 24th, 1911, Mrs. Bernard Klumpjan, of heart trouble, aged 39 years, 4 months and 20 days.
Lizzie Rohlinger was born in the town of Ashford, Fond du Lac County, this state, Sept. 4th, 1871. The family later moved to Lomira, Dodge Co., where she was united in marriage to Bernard Klumpjan on June 15th, 1898, and about nine years ago moved to Colby, settling on the Chapman farm, east from the city.
A little daughter was born to them Nov. 23rd, and a few days later she passed through a hard siege of diphtheria, which left her in a very weak condition, yet she had recovered sufficiently to be able to attend to her household duties. She contracted a cold the past week, but her condition was not thought serious until Monday, when her parents were sent for and arrived from Lomira, Tuesday, and with the husband and children were at her bedside when the end came.
Besides her husband and seven children, she leaves her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Rohlinger of Lomira, two brothers and two sisters, Anton, Mat and Mary of Lomira, and Anna (Mrs. Frank Gierl) of Colby, to mourn her death.
The remains were taken on the 8:30 train this morning to her former home, accompanied by Mr. Klumpjan and children, Mrs. Nick Rohlinger, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gierl, where the funeral and burial will take place Friday.
