Lukowicz, Augusta (26 NOV 1842 - 16 MAR 1911)

Mrs. August Lukowicz died at her home in Colby, Clark Co., Wis. last Thursday morning, March 16th, 1911, after an illness of three weeks, aged 68 years, 3 months and 18 days.

Deceased was born in West Prussia, Nov. 26th, 1842, and married at the same place in 1869 to August Lukowicz. She came with her husband and children to this country and settled in Milwaukee, where they lived four years and six months, removing to Poniatowski, Marathon County, and resided on a farm nearly nineteen years, coming from there to Colby ten years ago.

Besides her husband she leaves ten children, John, at home; Joseph of Antigo; Klementina Krolikowski of Poniatowski; Clara, Frank, Leo, Mary, Anna, August, Lucy of Colby, to mourn her death.

The funeral was held from St. Mary’s Church, Monday morning and the remains interred in the Catholic Cemetery.

Those from abroad who were here to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Stan Krolikowski of Poniatowski; Joseph Lukowicz of Antigo; Mrs. John Lukowicz, Miss Plona Herring, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kropidlowski of Milwaukee, and Lester Cuzner of Racine.
