Helf, Emma C. (7 MAY 1893 - 4 JAN 1913)

Miss Emma Helf, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Helf of the this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, at 5:20 Saturday morning, Jan. 4th, 1913, by her parents and Dr. Johnston, where everything known to the medical fraternity was resorted to to save her life, but without avail. She was an exceptionally bright girl and had hosts of young friends who deeply sympathize with the bereaved family.

Emma Christina Helf was born in Dorchester, May 7th, 1893, and therefore was 19 years, 7 months and 28 days of age at the time of her death. Besides her parents, she leaves one sister to mourn her death.

The funeral was held from Zion Lutheran Church in this city, Rev. C.C. Hartenstein officiating, on Monday afternoon, and was largely attended by friends from this city, Abbotsford, Dorchester and the neighboring towns. The remains were laid to rest in the Dorchester Cemetery.
