Braatz, Herman (2 MAR 1881 - 19 JUL 1957)

GRANTON, Clark Co., Wis. - Funeral services for Herman Braatz, 76, lifelong resident of the town of Grant, Clark Co., who died Friday morning at Neillsville Memorial Hospital, will be held in Zion American Lutheran Church, here at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. The Rev. Marvin Beninga will officiate, and burial will be made in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, until funeral time.

Mr. Braatz was born in the town of Grant March 2, 1881, and lived on his father’s farm until after his marriage to Miss Nellie Reuge on June 26, 1907, when he started his own farm. He continued farming until about 10 years ago when he retired because of ill health. He had been a hospital patient for three weeks following a stroke.

Mr. Braatz was an agent and a director of the Lynn Mutual Insurance Co., since his retirement.

Mr. Braatz served as town chairman for a number of years and was a member of the county highway committee. He also served on the Clark County Fair Board, and at one time was a member of the County School Committee.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Treichler, Menomonie Falls, three sons, Donal
