Bushnell, Duane R. (May 19, 1934 - December 25, 2005)

Duane Bushnell, age 71, longtime Owen resident and recent resident at Clark County Health Care Center, died December 25, 2005, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, following surgery.

Duane was born May 19, 1934 to Merle and Carol Bushnell. He delivered newspapers for many years in Owen and Withee, at one time delivering the Milwaukee Journal, Milwaukee Sentinel, Minneapolis Tribune, Minneapolis Star and the evening Marshfield News Herald. He also operated an auto salvage and later bicycle sale and repair business.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Bushnell, Clark County Health Care Center, Owen; sisters, Mavis (Larry) DuBrava, West Bend; Priscilla (Marlyn) Laabs, Marshfield; and brother, Brian (Betty) Bushnell, Wausau. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death was his father, Merle Bushnell, in 1992.

Burial will be at York Center Cemetery at a later date. The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is assisting the family.

A celebration of Duane’s life will be held, January 7, 2006, at the United Church of Christ, 107 Oak St., Owen, with visitation at 2 p.m., memorial at 2;30 p.m., lunch at 3:30 p.m. and socializing until 5 p.m. Reverend Mark Schwinn and Reverend Brian Anderson will be officiating.

Duane greatly enjoyed attending the Senior Center at Owen in recent years. The family requests that memorials be given to the Owen Nutrition & Senior Center, 112 5th St, Owen, WI 54460.
