Gaddis, Larry G. (21 AUG 1934 – 21 JUN 2019)

Larry G. Gaddis, age 84, of Withee, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 21, 2019, at his home under the tender care of hospice. Visitation will be at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen on Sunday, June 30, 2019, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2019, at the Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with arrangements.

Larry was born on August 23, 1934, the son of Frank A. and Lovina (Lenig) Gaddis, in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from Curlew High School in 1953. On June 19, 1955, Larry married Helen Louise Rigby in Laurens, Iowa. Larry farmed with his father until 1959 when the family moved to Withee to farm. He farmed there with his nephew David and grandson Blake until the time of his death.

Larry enjoyed traveling, camping, going to the casinos, and winters in Texas with close friends, Eldon and Carol Hurley from Iowa. He especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren. Most importantly, Larry cherished his family.

Larry leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Helen of Withee; children: Linda Kraemer of Marshfield, Carol (Garry) Rasmussen of Marshfield and Steven (Berta) Gaddis of Seymour, MO; grandchildren: Aaron, Blake Victor, Carlos, Karen, Tony, Allen, Stacy and Aaron; and nine great-grandchildren. He is further survived by a sister- in-law, Betty Gaddis of Bonfield, IL; many nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Frank and Art Gaddis; and a sister-in-law, Muriel Gaddis.
