Nelson, Emma (8 Nov. 1882 - *26 Jan. 1937) *Could be off.
The friends and neighbors were greatly shocked last Thursday when the sad news came that Mrs. Adolph Nelson had passed away at the Neillsville hospital where she had been taken the day before in the hope she might be given better medical treatment. She has been sick only a few days with pneumonia.
Emma Flaig was born in Norwalk, Wis., Nov. 8, 1882 her age being 54 years, two months, and 20 days. She and her husband came here from Chicago and purchased a farm six years ago, coming here as strangers. She soon made many acquaintances and friends and was ever ready and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and distress, depriving herself in many ways to help others. She leaves to mourn her death, husband, one daughter, Mrs. Jack Vetter, and three grandchildren of Racine; one step-son, Gust Nelson, of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Len Schultz, of Weston; and Mrs. Margaret (Left Blank), of Chicago; two brothers, Otto, of Norwalk, and Fred, of Cross Plains, Wis., and a host of relatives and friends.
Her husband and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Schultz, and granddaughter, Phyllis Vetter, who made her home with her, accompanied the body to Racine Friday where brief services were conducted and the body was laid to rest on the family lot, Monday afternoon, Feb. 1.
