Bandelow’s Farewell

There was a farewell dinner party held at the Methodist church Sunday noon in honor of George Bandelow, his son, Marlin, and family, who are moving within a few days to a farm near Marshfield. The dinner was hastily planned late Saturday night when the word was mistakenly passed around town that the Bandelow’s would be moving Monday. The three circle leaders tried to get the invitations and information to all our families. Some, however, could not be located; others had made other plans for Sunday dinner which could not well be cancelled. However, there were about 30 who come with a pot luck dinner and sat down with the Bandelow family to eat and fellowship together. After dinner a number of short talks were given and these were responded to by the honored guests. Then followed an imprompto program of readings and songs, then farewells were said. We, of the church, are indeed sorry to see these people leave our community where they have lived these many years. The good wishes of all our people go with them.
