My grandfather, Dr. F. P. Neis, moved to Thorp around 1920. It has always been my understanding that Grandpa Neis was one of the group that started Thorp Finance Company.

Francis Conway was a very close friend of Granpa's and was the executor of his will -- and I believe my grandfather was at one time chairman of the board to TFC.

I know my grandfather had a good deal of stock in the company and very specifically recall talking about starting the company with $5,000 as noted in this article.

I would like to know if F. P. Neis was a part of that original group or if he invested in the company at a later date.

I enjoyed this history of Thorp and will pass it on to my mother (87 years old), Margaret Neis-Klink, who was raised in Thorp.
