Mrs. John (Ruth) Schutte, Jr., age 77, of 105 Talcott Ave., Fort Atkinson, died this morning, February 1, 1985, at Kosclusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN.
Ruth Marie Ayers was born in Neillsville December 16, 1907, the daughter of Erving and Julia (Carlson) Ayers. She married John L Schutte, Jr. in Chicago December 19, 1923, and they moved to Fort Atkinson in 1951. He died September 8, 1968. Mrs. Schutte was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a son, Fred, Fort Atkinson; three daughters, Mrs. Marian Beirow, Fort Atkinson; Mrs. Nel (Ann) Staton, Leesburg, IN, and Mrs. Richard (Jean) Ferguson, Wales; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two sons and a sister.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dunlap Funeral Home, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. The Frank H Maxwell will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
RUTH AYERS MARRIED MY DAD-ALVIN SCHUTTE'S BROTHER JOHN SCHUTTE JR. THEY HAD A FAMILY AND A SON NAMED AFTER HIS GDPA AYERS--IRVING SCHUTTE. HE LIVED WITH HIS FAMILY IN SOUTHERN WISCONSIN AND CAME TO NEILLSVILLE, WI. IN THE SUMMER DURING 1940'S AND STAYED WITH US ON THE FARM 5 MILES SOUTH OF NEILLSVILLE, WI. IRV DIED IN THE SOUTH PACIFIC DURING THE KOREAN CONFLICT OF MENINGITIS. HIS BODY WAS RETURNED TO FT. ATKINSON AND ME AND MY WIFE EVELYN, HENRY AND VIVIAN SCHUTTE AND ALVIN AND ETHEL SCHUTTE ATTENDED HIS FUNERAL. HE WAS IN A VACUM SEALED CASKET AND WAS SHOWN AT THE FUNERAL!
