Zitzer, Frieda (8 AUG 1934)

St. John’s Lutheran Church at Riplinger was the scene of a pretty summer wedding at 1:30 o’clock on Wednesday, August 8th. Miss Frieda Zitzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Schultz of Unity, became the bride of Harold Block, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schultz of Colby. The Rev. Werner Gamb read the service in the presence of several friends and relatives.

The bridal party consisted of Miss Emily Zitzer, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, and Miss Gertrude Ewald, as bridesmaid. Pauline and Norma Dommer served as flower girls. Bert. Henke attended the groom as best man, and Giles Andursky acted as usher.

The bride was attired in an ankle length gown of white silk crepe. Her tulle veil was held in place by a cap effect, and she carried a bouquet of roses. The maid of honor attired in an ankle length frock of light green net and the bridesmaid in yellow net carried mixed bouquets of snap dragons, sweet peas, and dahlias. The two flower girls were attired in yellow and pink organdy, respectively, and carried bouquets of garden flowers.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents for the immediate relatives and friends, covers being laid for 25. A wedding dance was held at the Oakwood Pavilion.

Mr. and Mrs. Block are making their home on a farm west of Colby.
