Kuechenmeister, Rosa (27 Sept. 1858 - 16 Jan. 1938)

Mrs. Rosa Kuechenmeister passed away Jan. 16, 1938, at 10:30 p.m. at her farm home in the town of Grant after an illness of 10 years duration, old age being the cause of her death.

She was born Sept. 27, 1858, to Rosa and Gottlieb Kaufmann in Sheboygan County.

On April 27, 1879, she was married to Reinhold Kuehenmeister of Clark County, living here for 59 years. Five children were born to this union, 3 of whom, Oscar, Selma, and Carl, preceded their mother in death. The surviving children are Ida and Ottillia. Mr. Kuechenmeister died 7 years ago. Two brothers, Gottlieb Kaufman and Fred Kaufman; a half-brother, William Maes; a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Muehl, Saxton, Wis.; and three sisters, Mrs. Anton Baumann of Plymouth, Mrs. Fred Schwartz of Max, Neb.; and Mrs. Oscar Kuechenmeister, all preceded her in death.

Deceased was a genuine home maker, an ideal wife and mother, yet never too engrossed in her home circle to lend a helping hand to neighbors or friends in a time of sickness as long as her health permitted.

The funeral will be held this Thursday at 1:30 from the home at 2 o’clock at the Granton Lutheran Church, Rev. A. Laesch officiating. Interment will take place in the Granton Lutheran cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wm. Kurth, Otto Hantke, Alfred Drescher, Henry Braatz, Herman Braatz and Adolph Lichte.
