Volz, Harry E. (January 13, 1920 - March 22, 2006)
Harry E. Volz, age 86, formerly of Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday morning, March 22, 2006, at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, where he resided the past two years.
Mr. Volz was born in Neillsville, on January 13, 1920, to Robert and Velmer (Linton) Volz. He married Lorraine Wagner on November 26, 1949, in Neillsville, Wis. She died on August 2, 1994.
Harry was employed as a tow motor operator in the Biron Division of Consolidated Papers, Inc. and retired in 1985 with 35 years of service. He served his country with the U. S. Army in Japan during World War II from September 26, 1946 to May 30, 1947.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harry is survived by one daughter, Vicki (Len) Zellner, of Wisconsin Rapids; two sons, Terry (Kathy) and Randy (Pat), both of Wisconsin Rapids; five grandchildren, Josh (Kim) Volz, Kyle (Kara) Volz, Missy Volz (fiance Ed Bouchard), Brianne Volz and Jacob Zellner; two great-grandchildren; Rayna and Maya Volz; four brothers, Gerald (Margaret) Volz, of City Point; Willis (Jeanie) Volz, of Neillsville; Wilbur (Kathleen) Volz, of Orland, CA: Raymond (Jan) Volz, of Scottsdale, AZ; and three sisters, Marcella Adams, of San Pablo, CA; Florence Kopp, of Cambridge, WI; and Iva Lou (Roger) Northup, of Antigo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, George and Lester, and one sister, Delores Rosenthal.
Services were held on Tuesday, March 28, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Rev. Timothy Wenger officiated. Burial was in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
