Katara, Joseph (1884 - 16 OCT 1930)
Joseph Katara, an inmate of the Clark County Asylum, who eloped on September 13, from that institution, was found dead, October 16th, about a half mile south of the asylum buildings, near the Popple River. The man it is believed had roamed about the county for two weeks, and was making his way back to the institution when he became ill of exhaustion and exposure, and died in the woods.
H.W. Housley, coroner, and Dr. H.H. Christopherson were called and after an examination of the body believed that the man had been dead for about two weeks. He had been an inmate of the institution for about four years and was a trusty about the place. He was known as a "patient at large", having been sent here from some state institution.
