Moore, Mary Ellen (1 Nov. 1858 - 1 Jan. 1939)

Mary Ellen Waltenbaugh was born near Volga, Clayton County, Iowa, on November 1, 1858, and passed away at her home in Neillsville, Wisconsin, January 1, 1939.

She was married to Edwin O. Moore September 19, 1875. To this union were born four children: Mrs. C. V. Meyer of Neillsville; J. E. Moore of Baraboo; Mrs. J. R. Jones of Iowa Falls, Iowa. The youngest son, Guy Moore, preceded his mother in death in August, 1937. There are also three grandchildren, Merrill Meyer of Neillsville; Paul E. Jones of Iowa Falls; and Mrs. W. B. Hinton of Fayette, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Smock and Mrs. Margaret Bentley, both of Volga, Iowa, and one brother, J. E. Waltenbaugh of Eugene, Oregon.

Mrs. Moore spent most of her life in Iowa, but she and her husband moved to Wisconsin about sixteen years ago, coming to Neillsville in 1931.

Mr. Moore passed away January 14, 1931.

Deceased was a member of the church of Christ. She was a kind neighbor and lovely, loyal mother and will be missed by her family.

Funeral services were held at Baraboo Wednesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. Austin officiating.

Mrs. Jones and daughter, and Mr. Moore came in response to the message announcing their mother’s illness and with Mrs. C. V. Meyer were present at the rites on Wednesday.
