Hauser, Anna (10 May 1873 - 19 Feb. 1939)
Anna Kessenich was born may 10, 1873, at Waunakee, Wis., to Henry and Christine Kessenich. She grew to womanhood there and on September 18, 1894, she was united in marriage to John Hauser. To them were born five children: Christine, Mrs. John Schmidt, and Margaret, Mrs. Joe Walter, both of York Township; Gertrude, Mrs. Carl Roder, Neillsville; Othillia, Mrs. Earl Schwelenbach, Levis Township; and Henry, Neillsville, Wis. There are 19 grandchildren.
Four years after their marriage they moved from Waunakee to a farm in Wood County. In 1913 Mr. Hauser purchased a cheese factory at Christie which he operated until 1919 when the family moved to Neillsville, purchasing the property of North Hewett Street which has since been their home.
Besides the husband and children, Mrs. Hauser is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Feiler, Waunakee; Mrs. Jacob Esser, Arpin; and Miss Elizabeth Kessenich, Madison; and two brothers, Peter and Jacob, Waunakee.
Mrs. Hauser was, since early childhood, a great home lover and clever in the handiwork arts. She never sat down to idleness and gave freely of her talents, even while resting her hands were busy with the needle or crochet hook, and during the war she gave her spare time to Red Cross work. She had a fine alto voice and was a member of the choir in her church since a child.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Thursday morning, 9:30, Father J. A. Biegler officiating. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery in this City.
