Dahm, Alfred "Shorty" Walter (April 12, 1935 - January 2, 2003)
Alfred "Shorty" W. Dahm, age 67, of Stanley, formerly of Thorp, died at his home on Thursday, January 2, 2003.
Funeral services were held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2003 at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Burial as held at Sylvan Cemetery, in the Town of Reseburg, on Monday, January 6, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation was held at the Thorp Funeral Home on Sunday, January 5, 2003 from 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
Alfred Walter Dahm was born on April 12, 1935, in Stanley, the son of Walter and Bernice (Hoffman) Dahm. He was raised on the family farm, in the Town of Reseburg, and educated at Reseburg country school and Thorp High School. After his schooling, Shorty worked for Stanley Corporation, Mattes Livestock, as a farmhand for Pat Bauer and at Dahm’s Sugar Bush. He lived on the family farm most of his life and was known to many as the Mayor of Reseburg. Shorty’s many interests included jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, auctions and flea markets.
He is survived by two sisters: Lorraine (Leon) Andruszkiewicz of Thorp, Donna (Bob) Alger of Thorp; two brothers: Donald "Red" Dahm of Thorp and James (Linda) Dahm of Cornell, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
