Marvin, William S. (1 OCT 1858 - 10 MAR 1946)

William Seward Marvin, son of Mathew and Clara (Walters) Marvin was born October 1, 1858 in Black River Falls, Wisconsin and passed away at his home West of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday afternoon, March 10, 1946, having reached the age of 87 years, 5 months and 9 days.

He was united in marriage to Henrietta Fravert on Aug. 31, 1896 and to this union were born seven children, , six of whom are living. They are Henry of Granton; William and Harry of Greenwood; Mrs. Archie (Ruth) Cleveland of Granton; Mrs. Fred (Laura) Funk of Caledonia and Lottie at home. His wife passed away 13 years ago and a son Alfred also preceded him in death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 13th at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. A.J. Abbott officiating. Irene Abbott sang: "Beyond the Sunset", "Abinde with Me", and "Face to Face", during the service, accompanied by Mrs. John Meng at the piano. He was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery.

He is survived by the above named children, two brothers, Baxter Marvin of Duluth, Minn., and George of Idaho, and one sister, Mrs. Alice McAlvery of Buttenut, besides many nieces and nephews and a host of friends..
