Tell, Vera I. (15 AUG 1913 - 18 AUG 2006)

Vera I. Tell, 93, Vancouver, Wash, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, in Vancouver. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 2, at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock, Wash.

Vera Irene Turnquist was born on their dairy farm on Aug. 15, 1913, in Greenwood, to Adolph and Julia Turnquist. She lived in Greenwood, Chicago, Palatine, Loyal, Woodstock, and Vancouver. She was a member of numerous organizations, including Grace Lutheran circle, Infant Welfare Society, and Plum Grove Estates Book Review Club. She worked at the Pullman Palace Car Company and Union Oil for many years. She enjoyed spreading her joy of life to the people she met.

She was the wife of the late Paul K. Tell; mother of William "Bill" (Cathy) Tell, and Paula ("Joe") Burgher; grandmother of Emma (Graham) Cubitt and Karl (Vanessa) Tell; sister of Helen (Eric) Axelson, Verdelle (Jack) Felix, and the late Ruth (Jerome) Bertz.

Memorials can be sent to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 27, Greenwood WI 54437-0027, where her grandfather was a founding member.
