Collins, Arthur Raymond (August 24, 1920 - November 6, 2004)

Arthur Raymond Collins, age 84, of Thorp, died at Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire on Saturday, November 6, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2004 at St. Bernard/St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. Fr. Donald Wilger will officiate and burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Arthur Raymond Collins was born on August 24, 1920, in the Town of Butler, Clark County, the son of Capp and Georgia (Brown) Collins. He was raised on the family farm, received his elementary education in the Town of Butler and graduated from the Thorp High School. Ray worked and lived on the family farm his entire life. He was a member of St. Bernard/St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with his family.

He is survived by two sisters: Nancy Cesafsky of Altoona; Margaret Zank of Pasco, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Cecil, and one sister, Edna Wavrunek.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
