Opachan, Leonard (*13 June 1931 - 25 June 2004) *Birth date came from SSDI.

Leonard Opachan, age 73, son of Nellie Opachan, Lublin, died on June 25, 2004 in Naperville, IL. A memorial service was held on June 30, 2004 at Holy Spirit Catholic Community Church, Naperville.

Leonard was a submariner in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. While stationed in Hawaii, he was a pitcher for the U. S. Navy Sub Pac baseball team where he once pitched against Ted Williams.

In addition to his mother, survivors include one brother, John; two sisters: Joan Popp and Geraldine Manuel; two step-daughters: Lynn Salah and Tamara O’Brien; one grandson Korey O’Brien; seven nephews and many great nieces and nephews.

His father John Opachan, life long companion Patricia Salah and two brother-in-laws: Bill Popp and Bill Manuel preceded him in death.
