Emmett, Ronald James (September 22, 1934 - October 6, 2006)

Ronald J. Emmett, age 72, of Thorp, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2006 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel in Thorp with Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Burial followed in East Thorp Cemetery. Visitation was held on Monday, October 9, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Ronald James Emmett was born on September 22, 1934 in Chicago, IL, to Shirley "Steve" and Ruth (Snyder) Emmett and was educated at area schools. After graduating from high school, Ronald moved to rural Thorp and farmed with his father on the family farm. He later worked for several different employers over the years. He was a cheese maker for the Natzke Cheese Factory for 18 years, a delivery driver in California, a milk truck driver for Isenberger Trucking of Stanley, and for the past 26 years, Ron was a school bus driver for Rosemeyer Bus Service in Thorp.

Ronald is survived by his very special friend, Marcella Luzinski of Thorp, WI; three sisters: Doris Robertson of Lyons, IL, Judi (Dean) Place of Fort Collins, CO; and Cheryl (Jim) Martinez of Fort Collins, Co: and nieces, nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marilyn Benda.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
