Hatch-Smith, Percey E. (28 MAR 1848 - 11 NOV 1927)

Percey Amelia Emery, daughter of Lyman and Sarah Emery, was born at Wales, Erie Co., New York, March 28, 1848, and died at the home of her niece, Mrs. M. Hefferon at Battle Creek, Mich., Nov. 11, 1927, aged 79 years, 7 months and 14 days.

In 1867, she was united in marriage to Charles M. Hatch, and the greater part of her life was lived in this vicinity (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.). They spent a few years at Christie, returning here in 1885. To this union two children were born, a son and a daughter, both of whom preceded her in death.

Her husband, Charles M. Hatch, died at his home in Humbird, Sept. 26, 1904. In 1907, she was united in marriage to David E. Smith, who died Dec. 5, 1922.

After the death of Mr. Smith she lived alone until the summer of 1925, when on account of failing health she was forced to seek assistance from relatives and friends. Since then she made her home with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Adell Emery, at Oconomowoc; her sister, Mrs. Olive Burton, at Bellevue, Mich.; and with Mrs. Charles Willman in this village.

Deceased is survived by one sister and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held at Battle Creek, Sunday, and her remains were brought here for burial, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Burton, and Mr. Beers, from Battle Creek. Services were held at the M.E. Church Tuesday afternoon, Rev. L.L. Litchfield officiating. Interment was in Mentor Cemetery.
