Van Kirk, Oren (? - 20 AUG 1929)

Oren Van Kirk, an employee on the section for Foreman Ed Johnson, died in the Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, about 10 o’clock Tuesday night, from a skull fracture and other injuries. Mr. Van Kirk had kept his residence in Merrillan (Jackson Co., Wis.) since the headquarters of the section ere moved here (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.) last winter, and drove home each day after work. Last Friday he took a Ford coupe from the Essex garage in place of his own car. On nearing the Matalas place the car went into the ditch, throwing Mr. Van Kirk out and wrecking the car. He was taken to Merrillan and Saturday to the hospital, where he died without recovering consciousness. A widow survives. They had no children.
