Andrews, John (1833 - 27 DEC 1924)

John Andrews, of Garden Valley, only surviving brother of G. M. Andrews of this village, died at his home last Saturday, being 91 years, 7 months and 11 days old. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon, with services at his late home, and burial was in the Houghtonburg cemetery.

He is survived by three children one sister, Mrs. C. T. Gansel, and one brother, G. M. Andrews. His wife, Fredericka Kroll, whom he married in Waukesha county in 1857, died nineteen years ago.

The life of the deceased was closely connected with the history and development of Garden Valley. Born in Germany, he came to America when seventeen years old. After a year in New York City, he came to Wisconsin. The spring following his marriage he came with ox team and covered wagon to Garden Valley, and since June 3, 1858, the farm where he died was his home.
