Hare, Merril 'Bunny' (12 July 1913 - 26 Oct. 2006)
GREENWOOD -- Merril "Bunny" Charles Hare, 93, of Greenwood, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A celebration of Merril's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at the Greenwood American Legion. Inurnment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Greenwood.
Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.
He was born July 12, 1913, in Cooperstown, N.D., to Charlie Tupper and Olive (Sischo) Hare. He married Lois Merkel on Aug. 26, 1934, in Greenwood. He owned and operated People's Market in Greenwood, then worked as a custodian and bus driver for the Greenwood School District, retiring in 1978.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Hare of Owen; children, Corrine (Dick) Larson, Greenwood, Sue Ellen (Jim) Rahm, Greenwood, Margaret (Joe Pagliolo) Hare, Columbia Heights, Minn., Rosemary (Jim Uhren) Hare, Milwaukee, William (Frances Li) Hare, Minneapolis, and Beth Hare, Oshkosh; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Alma Elmhorst, Illinois.
While it is possible that Bunny's sister is Alma (nee Hare) Elmhorst, I think it far more likely that the last sentence should read thusly:
.... and his sister, Alma of Elmhurst, Illinois.
This from Kipp, a resident of Elmhurst, Ill.
Best regards - Kipp -
