Reineking, Amelia (8 SEP 1909)
Last Wednesday afternoon, at six o’clock, the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Reineking on the West Side (Clark Co., Wis.), was the scene of one of the most beautiful and largely attended weddings ever witnessed in this section of Clark County, when their daughter, Miss Amelia Reineking, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Alfred H. Decker of the Braun Settlement.
Promptly at six o’clock the strain of the wedding march, ably played by Miss Meta Reineking, sister of the bride, floated as a buoyant medium through the home, giving the signal to the happy couple, who marched to the parlor escorted by the Misses Hilda Reineking and Augusta Schwarze, and the Messrs. Calvin Noah and Otto Tielen, and where the Rev. Otto Saewert performed a most beautiful and impressive ceremony.
The bride, with flushed cheeks and wearing a handsome wreath and vail, and gowned in pale blue, made an exceedingly pretty picture as she marched in company with the bridesmaids who were dressed in white.
After the ceremony a bountiful wedding feast was partaken of and the many toasts given to Mr. and Mrs. Decker spoke well of the esteem in which they were held by those present, as did also the many presents, which were many, both useful and ornamental, which they received. After the supper, the guests were entertained with music and singing until a late hour.
The groom has rented his father’s farm in the Braun Settlement and it is there that Mr. and Mrs. Decker will make their future home.
Miss Carrie Eifler, cousin of the groom, and Fredrick Helming, and daughter, an uncle of the bride, of Franklin, Sheboygan Co., were among the relatives present from a distance.
The bride and groom are both highly esteemed and popular young people throughout this section and to whom the heartiest congratulations are extended, to which is added that of the Gleaner.
