Ratsch, Edna (Marriage - *19 Aug. 1939) * Could be off.

Miss Edna Ratsch of Grant Township and Carl A. Stefan, Chicago, were united in marriage at four p.m. Saturday. The single ring ceremony was performed by Rev. William A. Baumann at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. Theodore Zaremba giving the address. The church and home were decorated in pink, blue and white streamers and garden flowers.

The bride, gowned in white satin, was given away by her father. She carried a mixed bouquet of white roses, delphinium and lilies. Her bridesmaids were a sister, Miss Marie Ratsch, who wore aqua blue chiffon with a head band; Miss Lilah Seelow, gowned in pink net, and Mrs. Clarence Ratsch, dressed in pink chiffon. Each carried a mixed bouquet. Harold and Clarence Ratsch of Grant, brothers of the bride, were the groom’s attendants. Blue taffeta was worn by Miss Luella Ratsch, who acted as flower girl. Her basket contained a variety of flowers. The bride’s mother wore a blue gown and white roses.

A reception, attended by 75 guests, was held at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mrs. Stefan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ratsch of the town of Grant. She has been employed at Highland Park, Ill., at housework. Her domestic ability, encouraged under the supervision of her mother and through later experience, has given her the training required in the building of a happy home. The groom is the son of Mrs. Pauline Stefan of Chicago. He completed the high school course and has since been employed at various occupations.
