Wendt, Leona E. (8 OCT 1939)

An afternoon ceremony performed at the United Lutheran Church at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) Sunday, Oct. 8, 1939, united in marriage Miss Leona E. Wendt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Wendt, town of Longwood, and Burnell M. Erickson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Erickson, Greenwood. The service was read at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. A. E. Norson.

Miss Esther Hegenbarth and Norbert Friske were the couple’s only attendants.

The bride was attired in a wine colored dress with a royal blue jacket. She wore black slippers, a wine hat, and a shoulder corsage of white chrysanthemums. Miss Hegenbarth was dressed in a frock of smoke blue, with black accessories. She wore a shoulder corsage similar to the bride’s.

A small reception for the immediate families and close friends followed the ceremony, and a 5 o’clock wedding dinner was served at the home of the bridegroom’s parents. Pink, blue and white streamers and autumn leaves decorated the dining room for the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. Erickson are making their home at Greenwood, where the bridegroom is employed by the Slauson Tie and Lumber Co.

The bride has been employed at the office and home of Dr. Loren Giswold at Greenwood.
