Howard, O.J. & Adell (Gold - 3 APR 1942)

Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Howard held open house for friends and relatives at their home 2 miles southwest of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), on Friday, April 3, 1942, in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary. Their marriage took place at Richland Center on April 3, 1892.

Friday afternoon the Order of Eastern Star, Greenwood, of which both Mr. and Mrs. Howard are members, was entertained at the Howard home, and in the evening friends and neighbors surprised the couple.

Throughout the day cards, letters of congratulations, and gifts were received by the Howards.

Mr. Howard, the son of James and Evelyn Howard, was born in Richland Center on Jan. 7, 1869. Mrs. Howard, nee Adell Davis, also born in Richland Center on Nov. 13, 1868, is the daughter of James and Martha Davis.

The couple came to Greenwood on Oct. 1, 1928, and settled on the farm where they now live.

They have one son, Claude of Amery, and two daughters, Mrs. Otto (Frieda) Seybold of Oregon, and Miss Veda Howard of Richland Center. All of their children and two of their four grandchildren were present for the occasion.

Guests from away were Mrs. Claude Howard and her two sons, Dick and Bobby, Amery; and Mrs. Bette Bosworth of Willmar, Minn.
