Rand, Martha (1 JAN 1863 - 27 NOV 1936)

Funeral rites for Martha Rand, 73, Clark County pioneer, who died Nov. 27, 1936 at Neillsville, were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the home. The Rev. C.R. Gaylord officiated and burial took place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arthur Flicke, John Speich, George Einfeldt, C.C. Hoehne, Charles Varney, and P.W. Gullard. Two vocal solos by Mr. Forman were given at the service.

Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Paris Rand and daughter, Virginia, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dixon and son, Donald, and Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Devos, Neillsville; and Mrs. Clara Fricke and Mr. and Mrs. Formag, Minneapolis.

Born on Jan. 1, 1863, at South Whitley, Ind., Mrs. Rand, nee Martha Ditton, came to Clark County over 50 years ago, a nd had lived on her small farm north of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Methodist-Episcopal church.

Surviving children are Harry and Home Rand, Portland, Ore; Paris, Fond du Lac; and Mrs. A.L. Devos and Mrs. Ernest Dixon, Neillsville, Wis. Three grandchildren also survive. Mr. Rand preceded her in death.
