Mather, Margaret (JUN 1918)

(Hecla, S.D. Journal)

A wedding not altogether unexpected in Hecla took place at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Aberdeen Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m. The contracting parties were Merritt C. Chamberlin and Miss Margaret Mather, both of this city. Rev. J. Rosser Jones performed the ceremony in the presence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.S. Mather.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mather and was born and reared in Hecla and her friends are numbered by her acquaintances. She is a young lady of splendid talents and pleasing disposition.

The groom’s home is at Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis., but for over a year he has been the C. & N.W. agent here, and a popular one. Possessed of all the qualities of a good businessman he starts out with bright prospects. During his residence here he has made a host of warm friends whose best wishes he and his bride have for a prosperous and happy wedded life.

The August Hubert property on Main St. had been furnished in advance and the young couple are already settled in their new home.
