Rigg, Eleanor (1860 - 24 MAR 1936)

Mrs. William Rigg, 76 years, died at Victory Hospital, Stanley, Tuesday afternoon, at which place she had been for treatment for about ten days. Prior to her entrance into the hospital she had been confined to her bed at home for about three weeks. Death was due to a complication of trouble of old age.

Mrs. Rigg had been a resident of the village of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) since 1909, when she and her husband moved there from Waverly, Ill., their former home. During her residence in Withee she gained the large acquaintance and all that knew her, loved her. She was active in church work for many years.

Besides her husband she leaves to mourn, two sons, Clifford of Virden, Ill., and Clarence of Withee; and two daughters, Mrs. C.L. Johnson of Clear Lake, and Mrs. F.L. Griffin of West Concord, Minn., and Miss Ida Johnson of Minneapolis, a niece whom she had brought up from a two days old baby. Two brothers, Will Johnson of Waverly, Ill., and Warren Johnson of Olney, Ill., and one sister, Mrs. Lee Stone of Middleton, Ill., also survive. All of her sons and daughters are here to attend the funeral.

Services will be conducted Friday afternoon from the Griebenow-Weirich Co. Funeral Home in Owen, the Rev. Kelsey, pastor of the Methodist Church of Withee, officiating and burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery.
