BOY PAYS DEAR FOR RIDE
The seven year old son of Mr. and Mrs. White of Abbotsford was run over and killed last Monday while attempting to take a ride on a passing sleigh. One of the runners passed over his breast crushing it. This accident will be a warning to the many children in this town who are continually attempting to take rides on passing sleighs.
*The Marshfield News reported
this child's age as 5 yrs. Therefore, we think this was
Lyle White, the son of David White.

Abbotsford Child Dies Under Sleigh
The five year old son of D.A. White at Abbotsford while catching on sleighs was run over and instantly killed last week. The sleigh was loaded with grain, one of the sleigh's runners passing over the child's body killing him instantly. Last week the News printed an account of a like accident that happened here but happily not so serious. It also sounded a note of warning to those engaged in the practice but so far little attention has been paid to the matter. Before some Marshfield boy or girl is maimed for life or killed, the mayor, police or guardians of children should see to it that the practice is stopped. Let the death of the little Abbotsford boy be a lesson to those in the habit of catching on sleighs.
